  • How do I choose size of lampshade?
There are some general rules you can use as guide when thinking of the size of your shade. For a table lamp the height of the shade should be between 60-80% of the base height. If your base is 40cm in height, then your shade would be between 24cm-32cm in height. For a floor lamp the height of the shade should be between 30-40% of the base height. base. If your base 138cm in height, then your shade would be between 41cm - 69cm in height. For the width of the shade, measure the widest part of the lamp base then double it. this will give you the ideal width. These are just some general guidelines, and of course can be broken. sometimes a smaller height on a tall base can look very stylish and a taller shade on a smaller table lamp can look very retro. You just need to make sure you don't go too wide or too high as this can make it unstable.
  • What shape should I choose?
The shape you choose should match the base. If you have a round base a similar shape such as a drum or empire and a square base with a square or rectangle.
